A Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) mixes cold water and hot water and produces tempered water at a constant pre-set temperature enabling temperature control of automatic faucets. Delivering this tempered water to the end user helps eliminate the chance of scalding. Handwashing sinks should be set to at least 100°F, and not greater than 108°F. Zurn Model 38-ZW3870XLT Aqua-Gard® 3/8" thermostatic mixing valve is designed to be installed at the point of use under sinks and sensor faucets to assist in the prevention of scalding. The 3/8" compression fittings make this valve ideal for residential and commercial applications. The valves rapid response and precise temperature control meet the stringent standards of ASSE 1070 listed for fixtures, sinks, lavatories or bathtubs. Unit is NSF 61 lead-free certified. This valve is to be fitted to deliver mixed water to a single outlet. Note: This unit is for the TMV ONLY, supply lines sold separately. You will need (2) 3/8" female supply lines for the hot and cold and most standard a (1) 1/2" x 3/8" supply line to run from the TMV to most faucets. See P6900-SH-XL for supply lines. If you are installing this TMV directly to a faucet control module you may need a 1/2" x 1/2" MIP hex nipple (adapter) to connect the 16" female supply hose (not included) to a female ended control module.
