Berl’s Commercial Supply – Return & Warranty Policy


 

1. Information Required Before Any Return

Before requesting a return, please have the following information available:

  • Model and serial number of the item
  • Date of purchase
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos or videos documenting the problem (if applicable)

All returns—whether to Berl’s Commercial Supply or directly to the manufacturer—require a Returned Goods Authorization (RGA/RMA). Returns sent without prior authorization may not be processed.


2. Product Warranties

If an issue arises with an item covered under a manufacturer’s warranty:

  • Do NOT remove the product from its installation location until you have contacted the manufacturer for troubleshooting. Removing the unit prematurely may void the warranty.
  • Warranty procedures vary by manufacturer. Depending on their policy, they may:

    - Reject the claim
    - Replace the entire unit
    - Provide a replacement part
    - Dispatch a technician

Berl’s is happy to help guide you through the process; however, many manufacturers work directly with the end user for warranty claims.


3. Non Warranty Returns

Restocking Fees

Due to the specialized nature of commercial fixtures and the cost of processing returns:

  • Manufacturers typically charge a 25%–30% restocking fee for returned items.
  • Custom-built items are non-returnable.
  • Items stocked by Berl’s and returned to our inventory are subject to a 20% restocking fee.

Return Eligibility

To be eligible for return:

  • The request must be made within 30 days of shipment to the customer.
  • Items must be unused, uninstalled, and in their original packaging.
  • Items shipped on a pallet must be returned on a pallet.

When preparing your return:

  • Document the packaging and condition of the item.
  • Ensure all parts are included and secured to prevent damage during transit.
  • Insure the shipment for its full value.
  • Items damaged in transit cannot be accepted.

4. Shipping Damage

5. Shipments Outside the United States

Most manufacturers do not provide warranty coverage for products installed outside the United States.

If warranty service is needed:

  • You may be required to ship the product back to Berl’s or the manufacturer in the U.S.
  • You may also be responsible for return shipping costs.
