This Elkay / Halsey Taylor 98530C Red Spring Cartridge Valve Housing Kit is a pre-assembled kit that includes the red spring cartridge and the housing. This part fits most Elkay and Halsey Taylor drinking fountains with a pushbutton.
Note: Despite the description, the "red" spring, as you can see in the picture is not, in fact red. This naming convention is a hold-over from years ago when the spring was, in fact, red. The reason the name still contains it is that red denotes a specific level of pressure needed to depress the spring and engage the regulator. There are also green springs, and also regulator cartridges that are various colors, again, denoting what tension is present in the spring.
