About Dave Klett
Having been with the company from its earlier days, Dave initially started in customer service where he handled front line queries about products.
There, he quickly realized, and championed the importance of maintaining detailed and accurate information on the website, both as a resource for the customer service department, as well as a guide for customers.
As a result he is well-versed in pretty much all of the products that Berl's offers.
Dave takes the photographs of the products and parts for the website and, together with the product development team, creates the content for the product detail pages.
So it was natural that he became the webmaster for Berl's. And when the company transitioned to an ERP (Oracle NetSuite), having a technical background, Dave was tasked with managing that project as well.
Now, as COO for Berl's, Dave has his hands in most areas of the company, but his favorite part of the job is still doing a deep dive into the newest additions to Berl's product line.
BB (Before Berl's)
Growing up with computers (and having a dad who worked for IBM), Dave had access to one of the first PCs to roll off the assembly line and his fascination with systems and computing led him to work in technical fields ever since. (Dave's dad is greatly disappointed that he chooses to use a Mac as his primary computer.)
Dave graduated from Davidson College (he won't say what year) and then transitioned into the family business, a chain of custom interior design locations.
While there, he co-created one of the first purpose built custom furniture and window treatment configurators in the industry. These were set up to act as both a design workstation and cash register that autonomously compiled and transferred work orders for the custom production department back to headquarters every night (before the internet was a thing!).
Dave's hobbies are, well, ... centered mostly around things he is lucky enough to do at work.
